About the Operations We are a surgical inpatient ward that cares for patients before and after surgery. We have a high patient turnover and you will get stimulating and varied work where the pace can be both high and low, where no two days are the same. We provide surgical care following colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and otolaryngology. A large part of our operations consists of planned surgery, but we also conduct 24-hour intake from the emergency department and other clinics to our urological, vascular, and otolaryngology sections. The ward has 24 patient beds. As a nursing assistant with us, you have an important role in ensuring the patient's basic care needs. As a member of the surgical team, you have great opportunities to develop your skills. We are now seeking two nursing assistants for Surgical Ward 15 in Sundsvall for permanent full-time positions. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening shifts, and night shifts may occur in consultation with the unit manager. Weekend work 2 out of 5 weekends. Start date to be agreed upon. Job Duties Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, and your most important asset is your nursing care competence as well as your commitment to the ward's patients and working forward in a positive spirit. You work in a team with nurses and doctors where you together create the best conditions for the patient's recovery. You work with, among other things: Preoperative preparations Postoperative checks Wound, ostomy, and catheter care.
