Do you want to take the next step in your career as a nursing assistant? Are you curious about acute care, advanced nursing, and want to develop in a highly specialized care environment? Then the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (NIMA) at Örebro University Hospital might be the right workplace for you.
With us, we care for patients who need more advanced monitoring and nursing care than a regular ward can offer, but who do not require intensive care. Our specialty expertise is neurosurgery, but we also care for patients from most other departments within the hospital.
We are looking for you who want to develop within advanced nursing care, thrive in an eventful environment, and have an interest in medical equipment. You don't need to know everything from the start - we offer a comprehensive introduction and training program so you feel confident in your new role. Our unit has six care beds and is located at the top of the H-building. Here we value a good work environment where all employees are given the opportunity to grow, share their experiences, and influence the development of our operations.
With us, patients are continuously monitored and we have the expertise to care for patients with, among other things, tracheostomy, ventricular drain, ICP measurement, and BiPAP. This means that as a nursing assistant, you get to use all your skills and work closely with patients in an advanced care environment.
We want you to feel good working with us and welcome you to visit and observe the unit to gain insight into our operations.
Job Responsibilities
As a nursing assistant at NIMA, you work with both routine and more advanced nursing assistant tasks. The job responsibilities include, among other things:
• Patient care with continuous monitoring of vital parameters
• Perioperative nursing care
• Care of patients with tracheostomy
• Assisting physicians with, for example, placement of arterial lines and central venous catheters
• Documentation and teamwork around patient care
No two days are the same. You work closely with patients alongside other nursing assistants, nurses, physicians, and physiotherapists, where everyone contributes their expertise to provide patients with the best possible care.
Qualifications
We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on acute care according to earlier program structure, or are trained as a nursing assistant within the current program structure. To assess employability, grades from your nursing education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional title must be attached to your application.
We are looking for you who:
• Have at least one year of experience in the profession
• Have experience in hospital care, which is meritorious
• Have an interest in acute care and advanced nursing
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are responsible, resourceful, and have an easy time collaborating. You are attentive, engaged, and want to contribute to both your own and the organization's development.

We conduct interviews on a rolling basis during the application period.
The application should contain a CV, personal letter, and grades from nursing courses taken, as well as any proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional title. Other certificates, grades, diplomas, etc., should be provided at a possible interview.
