About Us
At Department 301, you will have the opportunity to work with competent and experienced colleagues in varied work with great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Here you work with patients of all ages in a positive work environment with humor and good teamwork. Collaboration is close with other professional categories needed to provide good and safe care. Over time, you will gain good knowledge of infectious diseases, healthcare hygiene, and infection control, and be part of shaping the future of infectious disease care in an increasingly globalized world.
We are approximately 35 employees distributed among nursing assistants, nurses, specialist nurses, section leaders, and unit managers. Doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists also work here.
Duties
Standard tasks as a nursing assistant on an inpatient ward with patient admissions around the clock. Patients usually come from the emergency department or from the infectious disease clinic's own outpatient clinic. The work is varied as we care for patients aged 16 and above with a very diverse range of illnesses. We have both patients requiring isolation care and patients who can share rooms. We have patients cared for for a couple of days and patients cared for for many months. The vast majority recover and are discharged and have only one care episode here at the department, while others return repeatedly. Some patients needing follow-up after discharge are followed at the clinic's infectious disease outpatient clinic, and in this way we follow the patient from first to last visit.
The department also has an emergency clinic where patients suspected of having infectious disease in need of urgent care in the evenings and on weekends can be treated. We also handle healthcare personnel who have experienced needle stick or sharp injuries.
You will learn a great deal about both contagious and non-contagious infectious diseases. We care for patients with common diseases such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections, but also patients with hepatitis, malaria, infections of the heart valves, skeleton, and brain. You will become an expert on transmission routes and healthcare hygiene and you will meet patients from around the world.
We offer qualified and focused workplace introduction and mentoring as well as continuous professional development in infectious disease care, infection control, and healthcare hygiene. We apply the career development model for nursing assistants.
About You
You who are applying should be a trained nursing assistant with a focus on acute care. We would prefer that you have work experience, preferably from an acute care ward, but other healthcare experience is also meritorious.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has a strong interest in patient care. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as teamwork ability, responsibility, flexibility, engagement, willingness to learn and coach others. You can adjust your pace and prioritize when needed. We would like you to be a proactive person with ideas and suggestions. You need to be comfortable working with patients with various contagious diseases as this is our daily work at the infectious disease clinic. We will teach you to work according to current procedures in a safe and secure manner. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We warmly welcome your application!
