Department 53 is an acute surgical unit that is part of general surgery/urology. The department is part of the surgical clinic which consists of three departments, two outpatient clinics, and day care activities. We are growing steadily and the department is staffed with our own personnel; our goal is continued growth and development. We Are Looking For We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant. You should have completed the acute care course (200 credits) or according to the new curriculum health and nursing care 1 and 2. If you have experience in surgical care or acute health care, this is a merit. We place great importance on your personal qualities as we value our good working community and pleasant work environment. As a person, you are independent, responsible, can take your own initiative, and appreciate the sometimes high pace. It is important that you have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a team, and contribute to good patient care with the patient in focus. What You Will Be Working With As a nursing assistant on department 53 – acute surgery, you are responsible for basic patient care. Tasks include, in addition to basic patient care, qualified tasks such as drain management, wound care, as well as specimen collection, patient education, risk assessments, and documentation in the medical record system. As a nursing assistant on the department, you have varied and developmental work where you work both independently and in a team. We work with person-centered care and interprofessional collaboration. You will work together with nurses, doctors in the acute care team, and other professionals such as physiotherapists.
