Within the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care, acute and planned surgical care, anesthesia, postoperative care, intensive care for children and adults, and sterilization services are provided at the regional and county level in close collaboration with other clinics in the county. The Department is also responsible for air-based intensive care in the north and for conducting research, development, and education.
On Operating Room 3, we work with highly specialized cancer surgery and vascular surgery. Upper gastrointestinal surgery including pancreatic, liver, and esophageal resections. Colorectal surgery, gynecology, urology, and endocrine surgery such as breast and thyroid operations. Advanced vascular surgery including abdominal aorta and carotid surgery. Several operations from the specialties mentioned are performed using robot-assisted surgical techniques. We also manage organ donation and multi-trauma cases.

JOB DUTIES
As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.
As a nursing assistant in the Operating Room, you have a key function in the operating suite. The work involves close collaboration with the anesthesia nurse, operating room nurse, anesthesiologist, and surgeon. The nursing assistant prepares the operating suite before surgery and sets it in order after the operation together with the rest of the operating team. During the operation, the nursing assistant serves as the operating room nurse's right hand. The role also includes supervising students, as Norrlands University Hospital is an educational hospital. Work as a nursing assistant is a varied and educational profession where the work tempo can shift from calm situations to more acute situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with grades in acute care nursing and preferably with a specialist course in operating room, anesthesia, and intensive care. Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively a service certificate that makes you covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions and allows you to use the title until June 30, 2033.
Meritorious is experience working in the operating room and in other acute healthcare. You have good technical basic understanding and see it as an exciting challenge to make use of our technical aids.
As a person, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible in thinking and action, and have the ability to make quick decisions. You have a drive to contribute to the development of the operation. We also see that you actively contribute to a good work environment and promote safety, learning, respect, and a professional approach.
