Job Responsibilities As a nursing assistant with us, your main placement is at the ENT clinic in Västerås, but you will also work at branch clinics in Sala, Fagersta, and Köping. Work is conducted during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Your primary responsibilities as a nursing assistant consist of clinic work where you assist one or two doctors during their patient visits. This position includes rotation to our own outpatient operating department as well as to the central operating room where we perform surgery with clinic staff one day per week. In our own operating department, you work independently with surgical nurses, registered nurses, and doctors. In the central operating room, anesthesia personnel are also part of the team. Your main tasks include preparing for operations, providing information to patients before surgery, and giving postoperative advice after the procedure. You assist nurses, surgical nurses, and doctors during procedures. Our patients include both children and adults. Dressing changes are primarily handled by nursing assistants at the clinic and are part of your job duties. Clinic work includes receiving and preparing patients for examinations, assisting during examinations, and managing follow-up work. You will also work with medical equipment, such as ultrasound, and be responsible for maintenance and organization of the clinic's various rooms. Administrative tasks also occur. About the Workplace The Otolaryngology Clinic has clinic operations in Västerås, Köping, Sala, and Fagersta. The clinic also conducts outpatient activities, allergy consultations, surgical planning, and oncology services. We also conduct research in collaboration with, among others, the Center for Clinical Research. Our clinic also includes the Hearing Unit, which serves the entire region. At the Otolaryngology clinic, medical secretaries, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together to provide quality and professional care. Patients who visit us are from mixed age groups and come for both scheduled visits and acute conditions. You will be part of a group of approximately 50 employees, of which 9 are nursing assistants. ENT operates on a team basis, and as an employee you have the opportunity to be involved in and help develop teamwork. It is an advantage if you have experience with clinic work, surgical nursing, and/or within the otolaryngology field. You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Cosmic medical record system. We see that you are a responsible, confident, and stable person with good self-awareness. You work well with other people while also being able to structure your own work and take responsibility for your tasks independently. The position requires you to have good communication skills.
