The Orthopedic Department provides specialist care for patients with orthopedic injuries and diseases. Within the department there is a geriatric section where we care for elderly patients with, for example, hip fractures and other orthopedic conditions that require a holistic perspective and close collaboration between different professions.
With us, nursing assistants, nurses, physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists work together to create the best conditions for patients' recovery and rehabilitation. We value a good working climate, close teamwork, and professional conduct.
The position involves shift work with morning, afternoon, and night shifts as well as weekend work.
Morning shift starts: 06:45–15:15
Afternoon shift starts: 13:15–21:45
Night shift starts: 21:15-07:15

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nursing assistant with us, you are an important part of the team around the patient. Your work tasks include:
Patient care before and after orthopedic surgery.
Postoperative monitoring.
Mobilization and support in rehabilitation based on the patient's individual conditions.
Assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, and meals.
Wound dressing and wound care according to prescription.
Performance of checks and measurements such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature, and respiratory rate (NEWS assessments).
Participation in risk assessments regarding, for example, falls, pressure ulcers, nutrition, and oral health.
Blood sampling.
Documentation and reporting of observations and changes in the patient's health status.
Support and information to patients and next of kin.
Active participation in the daily improvement and quality work on the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS
You are a trained nursing assistant.
You are responsible, flexible, and have professional conduct.
You enjoy working in a team and contributing to a good working environment.
You have the ability to prioritize and handle varying work tasks.
Experience in geriatric care, orthopedic care, or hospital work is advantageous.
