Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten is a regional organization that includes and coordinates the region's three hospitals. The center comprises units at the region's three hospitals with a total of approximately 250 employees. CFOG is a University healthcare unit and conducts research in collaboration with Umeå University. CFOG operates with a county-wide process-oriented approach and jointly ensures that people in Västerbotten have access to specialist maternity care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, postpartum home care, gynecological clinic, gynecological surgery, tumor surgery, and robotic surgery. The unit in Umeå has approximately 1800 deliveries per year and is also a center for prematurity from week 22 as well as tumor surgery for the entire northern healthcare region. We now wish to strengthen the team at CFOG in Umeå with an additional nursing assistant for rotation between our labor and delivery ward and postpartum/gynecological care. We work in teams around patients, where nursing assistants, midwives, and physicians collaborate together to provide patients with the best possible care. RESPONSIBILITIES As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better. You work professionally and keep the patient in focus. Nursing assistant work involves addressing patients' specific care needs. You participate in care during labor and collaborate closely with our midwives and physicians. Labor care focuses on balancing the birthing woman's autonomy with medical risks for both mother and child. In postpartum/gynecological care, you work closely with midwives and physicians to provide the family with a secure start through good care of mother and baby. The nursing assistant role requires you to independently perform the tasks you are responsible for. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with an approved nursing assistant education. Since nursing assistant has been a protected title as of July 1, 2023, you need to provide documentation from the National Board of Health and Welfare. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant, in both postpartum care and labor and delivery. As a nursing assistant with us, you work at a fast pace with varied tasks that require both medical competence and good collaboration skills. The role also demands high flexibility and adaptability, as you need to quickly assess patients' conditions and assist midwives in acute situations.
