We are looking for a nursing assistant for the Hand, Plastic, and Eye Department in Umeå. Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. The Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital provides highly specialized hand and plastic surgery for patients in the northern region. Since 2015, the clinic has also provided nationally specialized care in hand surgery for brachial plexus injuries. The clinic employs approximately 100 staff members from various professions. We have an inpatient ward, an outpatient clinic, an operating department, a rehabilitation department, and a medical documentation department. The Hand, Plastic, and Eye Department is a surgical inpatient ward that includes inpatient beds and day surgery beds. Our patients are primarily adults. Many of the patients we care for have undergone minor procedures and have a short length of stay, while some patients have undergone major surgery with a need for high-level care. We are a department with 29 staff members where all professional categories work together for the patient's benefit. We are close-knit, which enables us to have fun at work and maintain a good work environment. The work is characterized by high work morale and all professional categories work together to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. Welcome to the hospital's friendliest department! 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute your knowledge and commitment to make people feel secure. We offer you varied and stimulating work in a team with enthusiasm. Working as a nursing assistant in our department involves varied work including advanced dressing changes, circulation checks of grafts, monitoring of vital parameters, blood sampling, postoperative mobilization, and more. You will meet patients who have undergone minor procedures and leave the department within one day, as well as seriously ill patients who have undergone major procedures with longer stays. With us, you will have an important and natural role in the nursing care team, and your work contributes to safe, quality patient care. You will work both weekdays and weekends, during daytime and evening shifts, and potentially night shifts. We will develop an individual introduction plan together with you so that you feel you have a secure start and good opportunity to learn the work with us. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is trained as a nursing assistant. If you have previous experience working on an inpatient ward, we consider that a merit. You are an organized and responsive person who has the ability to stay one step ahead so that you can contribute to high-quality patient interactions. You have a good ability to collaborate and adapt to what the situation requires. You also enjoy independent work and actively contribute your knowledge to create a good work environment.
