About the Position
On behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces and the Government, FMV conducts technical intelligence services within land, air, and naval operations to support Swedish foreign, security, and defense policy and to identify external threats to the country. The work is conducted within the framework of the Government's direction of defense intelligence activities.
As an intelligence analyst, you will play a vital role in mapping and analyzing foreign land forces' technical systems, with a focus on command, communications, and telecommunications warfare. You will conduct qualified analyses, studies, tests, and experiments to create understanding of technical capabilities and development trends in the field. The work combines theoretical analysis with practical elements and offers variety in both tasks and working methods. Work is performed both independently and as part of project teams.
Your role also includes planning and conducting training and lectures within your area of specialization as well as related fields. The position may be physically and mentally demanding, and to provide you with the best possible conditions, you will participate in several internal training programs during your initial period.
The position is based in Stockholm and work is performed on-site. Regular travel occurs as part of the position, both within and outside Sweden. Therefore, you must be prepared to undergo any vaccinations that may be required as part of your duties.
About You
We are seeking candidates with a university degree or master's degree in electrical engineering, technical physics, IT, or equivalent education or competence that FMV deems relevant. You should have current experience working with technical matters within command, communications, or telecommunications warfare with knowledge of the technology, hardware, and software used within the defense sector. You also need strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and a Class B driving license.
It is advantageous if you have experience working in various international contexts and cultures, preferably with a broad professional network. Experience working in a military environment, preferably within the intelligence community, is also valued and will help you succeed in the role. Russian language skills are a plus. We also appreciate experience managing smaller projects.
