Duties
As unit manager for the clinic's physician team, which consists of approximately 25 employees, you will be part of the clinic's management group and contribute to the clinic's development within internal medicine and hospital-based primary care. In your role, you are responsible for personnel, operations, and finances. You will be part of the clinic's patient safety team.
The unit manager's assignment includes conducting leadership according to the region's management policy. Within Region Västmanland, we want to see leadership that is visible, present, and coaching, which means supporting and utilizing employees' knowledge and competence as well as enabling employee responsibility-taking, learning, and participation.
As a new manager in Region Västmanland, you will participate in our management development program and have access to good support functions, for example within Finance and HR.
About the Workplace
The Internal Medicine Clinic Köping/Fagersta provides acute internal medicine care and hospital-connected primary care in western and northern Västmanland with a catchment area of approximately 85,000 residents. Within the Internal Medicine Clinic Köping/Fagersta, all internal medical diseases are investigated and treated, and each department has focus areas where staff have in-depth knowledge. The clinic is large enough to provide good experience in treating common medical conditions and small enough that as an individual employee you have the opportunity to see the whole picture, be recognized, and feel at home throughout the clinic. Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has specialist physician training and who has an interest in further developing within leadership. It is meritorious if you have experience in development work. We see it as an advantage if you have basic knowledge in finance, systematic workplace environment work, and labor law, but it is not a requirement.
Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish and you therefore need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
You are a confident, stable person with good self-awareness. Your leadership is inclusive, engaging, and trust-based, which promotes an unpretentious and development-driven operation. Your ability to lead with trust and engagement helps inspire and motivate others. You collaborate well with others and have a good ability to see the whole picture from both a daily and strategic perspective, and you work actively toward goals and results.
Terms of Employment
Permanent full-time employment within your basic profession, placement in Köping, some work may occur in Fagersta.
Appointment as Unit Manager is time-limited and runs for 4 years. Start date by agreement.
The management assignment will correspond to approximately 50% of working time; the remaining time you work clinically and may participate in on-call duty at an appropriate service level.
