We are proud of our technology and innovation department, which is a world leader in digitalization, AI, and energy efficiency. Our research and development department, located in Hagfors, is the largest in the world within tool steel. We are now seeking an operator for our steel plant, the heart of Uddeholms' operations. Here we melt approximately 600 tons of steel every day, and you will be an important part in launching our manufacturing processes. Today, the steel plant consists of approximately 45 employees, and you will be part of a shift team where collaboration is essential. The position currently involves working a 3-shift schedule. Job Responsibilities In the role of operator/pit caster, you will work together with your shift team to prepare for casting. This includes, among other things: Preparing pit floors with refractory brick and filling with sand Preparing molds for casting Possible forklift and overhead crane operation In the role of pit caster, you will contribute to ensuring a stable and efficient production flow. Starting as a pit caster is a good entry point if you want to develop further within the steel plant, for example toward the role of melter. There are several different positions and excellent opportunities for internal further training. Your Profile We are looking for someone who has the ambition to develop within the company and is interested in further training to become a Melter at the steel plant. It is a merit if you have experience working with molten steel. It is also a merit if you have forklift and overhead crane certification, computer skills, and training in Hot Work, but this is not a requirement. As a person, you have a flexible attitude and are open to change, enjoy solving problems, and contribute to a positive work environment through good collaboration and trust.
