About the Role
As Department Head for the rescue department, you have overall responsibility for operational activities, personnel, and strategic development.
You lead an organization of approximately 400 employees and several subordinate managers, where your leadership will be crucial in creating direction, engagement, and results.
You are part of the management group and have a central role in developing the entire federation.
Your Responsibilities
• Lead, develop, and follow up on the department's activities and employees
• Ensure operational capacity, quality, and sustainability in the emergency preparedness organization
• Drive strategic development initiatives within the rescue service
• Manage budget, resource planning, and results
• Represent the operations internally and externally
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and good collaboration
• Work closely with other departments to create an efficient and unified organization
We're Looking for You If You
• Have solid experience from rescue services, emergency response operations, or other mission-critical activities
• Have relevant education in, for example, leadership, civil protection, or equivalent
• Are a secure, clear, and engaged leader with experience in managing through managers
• Have the ability to combine operational understanding with strategic perspective
• Are communicative, relationship-building, and build trust
• Have good IT skills and experience working with follow-up, planning, and analysis
• Master Swedish in speech and writing and have good understanding of English
