Are you a newly graduated nurse curious about ophthalmology? Through the trainee program, you will have access to a mentor to help you transition into your role as a nurse in the best possible way. You will also have the opportunity to observe at other clinics within the hospital and attend lectures in various areas related to the hospital's operations. The trainee program is structured over three terms where you will: Term 1 Care Ward We are a smaller care ward that treats patients of all ages from one year and up. The care ward has 16 inpatient beds in single rooms. We care for both surgical and medical patients in inpatient care. We have short stays, fast patient flow, and varying care intensity. Term 2 Day Surgery Our surgical department provides highly specialized ophthalmologic care and performs approximately 10,000 eye surgeries each year, of which 3,000 are performed under general anesthesia. We currently have nine operating rooms where we perform surgeries in cataract, retina, plastic surgery, oncology, and strabismus, as well as corneal transplantations. We perform all types of ophthalmologic procedures and work with the latest technology. Term 3 Eye Emergency Department The Eye Emergency Department's mission is to receive patients with acute vision-threatening conditions, accidents, and other acute eye problems requiring prompt treatment. We are open every day between 8 and 16 o'clock. We work in teams staffed by optometrists, nursing assistants, ophthalmic nurses, nurses, specialist physicians, and resident physicians. The specialized expertise of our teams contributes to providing good and safe care. After the trainee program, there is an opportunity to pursue further training to become an ophthalmic nurse. About the Position Your responsibilities include caring for our patients on the care ward. You will work alternately with surgical and medical patients. We work in teams, and you will never be the sole nurse on duty. The trainee program also includes mentorship. You will have the opportunity to observe at other clinics within the hospital and attend lectures in various areas related to the hospital's operations. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a newly graduated nurse or a licensed nurse with a maximum of two years of professional experience. To begin our trainee program, you must have a valid nursing license. Personal Qualities You are a positive and open person who is structured and thorough in your work. As a person, you thrive with varying work pace and enjoy working in teams. We see that you put the patient first and have the ability to work carefully and responsibly. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Terms and Conditions This position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period of six months may be applicable. Start date January/February. Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis. Include course certificates and proof of nursing licensure from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare in your application.
