As Traffic Manager at Svensk Tågkraft, you will play a key role in developing, leading, and coordinating the company's traffic planning and capacity management. You are responsible for strategic planning of traffic, capacity, and implementation, as well as the company's dialogue and collaboration with Trafikverket and other central actors in the railway sector.
The role involves overall responsibility for ensuring that traffic arrangements, timetables, and capacity applications support the company's goals of high quality, punctuality, and efficiency. You work both long-term on developing traffic solutions and short-term on managing deviations, analyzing traffic outcomes, and driving improvement measures when operations do not deliver according to plan.
You have personnel responsibility for the company's traffic planners and are responsible for leading, developing, and coaching the team toward established goals. In the role, you ensure that the right competencies, efficient working methods, and good conditions exist to create a successful traffic planning function. You actively work with employee discussions, competency development, resource planning, and workplace environment matters, and contribute to creating an engaging and developmental workplace.
In an operation where collaboration between customers, authorities, suppliers, and internal functions is crucial, your ability to create structure, clarity, and momentum is central. You work at strategic, tactical, and operational levels and help develop both processes and working methods to strengthen Svensk Tågkraft's position as a reliable actor in the railway industry.
You lead and coordinate traffic planning work internally, represent the company in external forums, and collaborate closely with customers, Trafikverket, operational functions, and other key stakeholders. The role also includes responsibility for monitoring traffic quality, capacity utilization, and delivery precision, as well as identifying and implementing improvement initiatives.
The role reports to the CEO and is part of the company's management team.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with several years of experience in traffic planning, capacity planning, timetable work, or other strategic planning activities in railways, transport, or logistics. You have experience coordinating complex issues between different stakeholders and a good understanding of how traffic, capacity, operations, and economics interact to create an efficient operation.
You have previous experience with personnel responsibility or another management position and are confident in your leadership. Experience from the railway industry is highly meriting, as is familiarity with working in close collaboration with Trafikverket and other actors within the transport system.
As a person, you are analytical, structured, and communicative. You have an easy time building trust and establishing long-term relationships while being able to make decisions and drive matters forward in complex environments. You enjoy combining strategic thinking with operational problem-solving and have the ability to translate analyses into concrete results.
You express yourself well in Swedish and English in both speech and writing, and have good experience working with planning tools, analysis materials, and follow-up systems.
What We Offer
At Svensk Tågkraft, you will have the opportunity to work in an operation that contributes to a sustainable and efficient transport system.
