We are now looking for you to work as a substitute teacher at the Staffing Unit within the Primary School Administration. We offer you varied work with many new encounters. Above all, you get meaningful work where you can develop and make a difference for our students. The Staffing Unit provides substitute teachers to Gothenburg City's municipal primary schools, adapted primary schools, and the cultural school. The operations are divided into four geographic areas, and as a substitute teacher, you work where the need exists. In the role of substitute teacher, you are an important part of the students' daily life and learning. You replace regular staff during absences and support students in their schooling. The work involves both responsibility and variety, but also great joy when you see students develop and succeed. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER IN PRIMARY SCHOOL In primary school, work is offered in the following positions: Teacher: You teach full classes in various subjects (grades F–6) or in specialized subjects (grades 7–9). Your task is to conduct instruction to contribute to students' knowledge development. Aftercare Teacher: You work with students in aftercare programs (grades F–6) before the school day starts and after it ends. During school hours, you are in the classroom and support the regular teacher. Student Assistant: You work with students in need of special support both inside and outside the classroom. This could include, for example, reading and writing difficulties or various types of disabilities. ADAPTED PRIMARY SCHOOL In adapted primary school, students with intellectual disabilities study. As a substitute teacher, you assist students in need of special support. This means you help them with their studies and provide support in and outside the classroom. CULTURAL SCHOOL The Cultural School offers artistic and educational activities for children and young people (ages 6–19) in Gothenburg. Working hours can be daytime, afternoon, evening, weekends, or during school breaks. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with children and young people. Regardless of which operation you want to work in, you are expected to be a good role model, meet students at their level, and act with a calm, professional demeanor. Relevant education and/or work experience is an asset. Swedish is the common working language at our schools, so you need to have good language skills in both speaking and writing. You have good basic knowledge of digital tools and can quickly learn our and the operations' systems. WE EXPECT THE FOLLOWING FROM YOU: · You are responsible for indicating your availability in our booking system, including which days and times you can work. You must be available to work with us at least 2 days per week. On the days you have indicated availability, we expect you to be able to work. · You must be prepared to receive and respond to shift requests via SMS or e-mail from early morning to evening, between 06:30 and 22:00. · Each working day affects student learning and well-being. Therefore, it is important that you are engaged in your work and quickly familiarize yourself with your assignment.
