Each unit follows up on and evaluates its operations, conducts results analysis, and formulates improvement measures. DUTIES As a substitute teacher, you are an important part of the daily work in our preschools and schools. You replace regular staff during short-term absences, often with short notice. The role involves being active in learning and social development as well as participating in outdoor activities, regardless of weather. In preschool (ages 1-5) you contribute by: • Supporting children in play, group activities, and planned activities • Assisting with meals, diaper changes, and bathroom visits In school (preschool class-grade 9) you contribute by: • Leading lessons and following curriculum plans • Supporting after-school care for younger age groups We make each other better by: • Collaborating and leveraging each other's competencies • Creating an inclusive and safe environment • Being flexible and solution-focused QUALIFICATIONS Working as a substitute teacher requires the ability to quickly adapt to new environments and create a sense of security for children and students. It requires good collaboration skills, flexibility, and the ability to take responsibility. Being able to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and be receptive when interacting with children, students, and colleagues is central. To thrive in the role, you need to be present, have a respectful approach, and contribute to a positive learning environment where both teaching and social development are in focus. The position requires: • High school diploma with passing grades in Swedish, English, and mathematics or equivalent • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • Availability to work throughout the municipality We would like to see that you have experience working with children or youth, for example through internships, volunteer work, or previous employment. Pedagogical education and teacher or preschool teacher certification are also merits. A driver's license and access to a car would be advantageous. Before employment can begin, you must provide a valid extract from the criminal background check registry for work in schools and preschools. If you are selected to move forward in the recruitment process, you will be invited to an information and interview session where you need to bring: • Extract from the criminal background check registry • Valid ID (Swedish passport, national ID, or identity certificate) • High school diploma and other relevant certificates During the meeting you will receive information about the work and what it means to be a substitute teacher, and you will participate in a brief interview.
