About the Job Would you like to make a difference for people with disabilities and provide them with support in their daily lives? We are now recruiting dedicated temporary staff for Skärviken and Skäruddens BmSS, located on the beautiful island of Styrsö in Gothenburg's southern archipelago! To reach the facilities on Styrsö, you will need to take the ferry from Saltholmen. As a temporary staff member with our Staffing Unit, you will become an important part of our residents' daily lives. You will help with both practical and educational support, from personal care to leisure activities and social support. We work with individually tailored support for people with intellectual disabilities and autism. What is a disability? A disability is a reduced physical, mental, or intellectual ability. It can be congenital or develop later in life, and it can be visible or invisible. Each person is unique—with their own abilities, needs, and strengths—and that is what makes the work both meaningful and developmental. What We Offer You: • Meaningful work where you make a difference every day • A beautiful work environment in the archipelago • Supportive colleagues and a developmental workplace • Flexible working hours during the day, evening, and weekends, as well as the possibility of on-call shifts As temporary staff, you work as needed and set your own availability. Would you like to help create a meaningful daily life for our residents? Submit your application today! About You You must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with regulations on the work environment for minors (AFS 2023:2). To be able to maintain documentation, you need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which means you must have approved grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit. Education in healthcare and social care or other education that the employer considers equivalent, or experience working with people with disabilities and/or in healthcare and social care work, is a merit. It is advantageous if you have experience working with autism as a target group and challenging behavior. If you also have knowledge of LAB (Low Arousal Approach), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), clear pedagogy, MI, and experience with social documentation, that is to your advantage. Other Information When you apply, you will describe your knowledge and experience by answering questions instead of submitting a personal letter. Also attach certificates of studies or degrees to your application. Prior to a potential employment offer, you must provide an unopened extract from the Police Criminal Records Register. You are responsible for ordering the extract via the Police website: Arbete i hemmet med äldre och personer med funktionsnedsättning | Polismyndigheten Gothenburg City works actively to promote equal rights and opportunities and to counteract discrimination.
