JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As temporary staff within the Education sector at Gävle, you'll have a varied workplace where you work with children and young people in special education schools. Working hours as a temporary substitute can vary from day to day, as you work when the activity needs you. Some weeks you may work a lot while other weeks might be less. We require that you be available to work at least 50% of full-time. The more you can work with us, the better. Working as a temporary substitute in special education schools requires great flexibility, as you often receive your exact working hours the same day you are to work. You need to be prepared to travel to special education schools throughout Gävle Municipality, but we will work to maintain as high a degree of continuity as possible, and you will primarily work at a smaller number of special education schools. As temporary staff, you primarily support when regular staff are absent, but also when there is temporarily high workload. You respond when needed and get the chance to work with varied tasks at different units. QUALIFICATIONS To work as a student assistant in special education schools, you need to be able to provide support to one or more students so they can benefit from instruction. This may involve supporting a student with reading and writing difficulties, concentration difficulties, psychosocial challenges, or various types of disabilities. You may also need to help with practical activities during the school day, provide structure and predictability, and adapt activities so the student can participate according to their abilities. We are looking for you who have: • good Swedish language skills • ability to work at least 50% It is meritorious for the position if you have a pedagogical education that the employer considers relevant for the position, as well as professional experience working with children and young people with disabilities and functional variations. To succeed in the role, you are: • Secure: you create calm and stability for students and are an adult they can trust • Relationship-building: you have an easy time building positive and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians • Coaching-oriented: you encourage, motivate, and support students in their development based on their individual circumstances Employment form: Fixed-term employment.
