Ekeskolan is located in Örebro and teaches students with visual impairments and additional disabilities from preschool through grade 10. Teaching should provide good conditions for student development and learning, as well as improved academic results. Our staff work extensively with form and feeling for all senses. We offer residential accommodations for students who cannot commute to school daily. 2 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a substitute, you may work in various areas at Ekeskolan during school time, leisure time, and evenings. For example, there may be a need for substitutes as student assistants, kitchen assistants, cleaners, or residential supervisors. In the selection questions, you will indicate which work tasks you are interested in. You will therefore be available when needs arise with short notice. Offers for such temporary employment are usually made verbally. Of course, you have the right to decline assignments offered to you. Before you work independently with students, you will have the opportunity to shadow and learn about the students and routines. You also have access to our student health team for orientation. At Ekeskolan, all teaching is based on the Special School Ordinance and the Special School or adapted Primary School curriculum. Teaching, environment, and communication are tailored to each student's needs. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with basic knowledge of child development and various disabilities, as well as basic computer skills. It is advantageous if you have: • experience working with students with visual impairments and additional disabilities • knowledge of student development in communication and alternative communication methods • basic knowledge of child development and various disabilities • experience working with children with physical disabilities • experience with sign language interpretation and guiding • knowledge of medical care • experience working with people with mobility difficulties. As staff at Ekeskolan, you are expected to participate in planning, implementing, and developing the school's activities. Social interaction and communication are important in our work. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills with colleagues, management, guardians, and other school staff. We value qualities such as being reliable, stable, dependable, and responsive.
