Substitute Teachers Sought for Preschools, Schools, and After-School Programs
About the Position
The Staffing Unit is seeking engaged, responsible, and flexible substitute teachers for preschools, schools, and after-school programs. The assignments involve working with children and students from preschool age through upper secondary school.
The employment is intermittent, which means you work as needed and receive hourly pay for the hours you work. You have the opportunity to indicate your own availability for work.
Work Responsibilities
As a substitute teacher, you contribute to creating a safe, developmental, and inspiring environment for children and students. You need to be prepared to step in on short notice, and shifts can range from a few hours to longer-term assignments.
In preschool, you support children's development, learning, and care through play, educational activities, and daily routines. In schools and after-school programs, you can lead groups of students, support instruction based on existing plans, and be responsible for activities in the absence of regular staff.
You also help create meaningful activities both indoors and outdoors and work actively to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where all children and students feel seen and respected.
We would like for you to be available to work at least two days per week, but daily availability is not required.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with children and young people. You are positive, responsible, flexible, and work well with both colleagues and students. You take initiative, are comfortable interacting with people, and can adapt to different situations and work environments.
For this position, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Speak and write Swedish well.
Have strong ability to collaborate and build positive relationships.
Previous experience working with children and young people is an asset but not required. A driver's license and access to a car are advantageous.
Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
Additional Information
Work in preschools, schools, and after-school programs requires a valid criminal record certificate. Background checks are conducted for all individuals offered employment who will have regular contact with children and young people.
If you advance in the recruitment process, you will be contacted via email for an interview. Please check both your inbox and spam folder.
Selection and recruitment are ongoing.
We warmly welcome your application—we look forward to hearing from you!
