Substitute Teacher - Afterschool Care, Grades F-3

Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. IES Eskilstuna is one of the largest schools in Sweden with 1,185 students enrolled in grades F-9 and approx 125 staff members. Substitute Teacher - Afterschool Care and Grades F-3 IES Eskilstuna is now seeking substitute teachers for our afterschool care program and grades F-3. With us, you make an important contribution to ensuring that all students develop, learn, and grow according to their individual abilities. You will serve as a resource to or substitute for regular teachers during school hours as well as participate in afterschool activities both indoors and outdoors. The ability to take initiative, communicate, and solve problems are particularly useful qualities when working as a substitute teacher. Your responsibilities include: Support multiple students in their learning and social development, both in and outside the classroom Contribute to a safe and stimulating learning environment during lessons and breaks Assist with indoor and outdoor activities Substitute for teachers during absences Help and support children in their development according to the curriculum Create safety, structure, and a conducive learning environment in the classroom This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a bilingual environment and develop within the school world! QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is flexible and can step in as a substitute teacher on short notice. You have completed upper secondary education and experience working with children and young people. It is advantageous if you have previously worked at a school or primary school, are studying to become a leisure time educator/afterschool care teacher, or have relevant training in the field. As a person, you are responsible and enjoy taking your own initiative. You have a clear focus on students. Work as a substitute teacher involves many interactions, so it is crucial that you have a positive view of people and good collaboration skills. Most importantly, you have a passionate interest in children and young people's learning and development. We are looking for someone who: Is passionate about working with children and young people Is flexible, adaptable, and collaborative Can build positive relationships with our students, staff, and guardians Can contribute to a productive work environment in the student group and classroom Has good knowledge of Swedish and/or English Communication is one of our most important tools in both afterschool care and school.
