About the job
You will work at one or more of our units with typical tasks for an animal nurse or an animal care worker with extended authorization. With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment.
This is a temporary hourly position and work may be scheduled during day, evening, or night shifts - on weekdays or weekends.
Your background
You are a licensed animal nurse, temporary animal nurse, or animal care worker level 3. Experience working at an animal hospital is a merit. You express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish.
You enjoy meeting animal owners in different situations and understand the importance of maintaining good customer relations. You are communicative with a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in work that creates good conditions for basic education and research. You understand that an event-driven operation is something you can handle. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care.
As a person, you are organized, can handle sometimes pressured situations, have good self-awareness, and a willingness to contribute to the operation. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
About us
The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and postgraduate education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Within all these subjects, our operations span all animal species.
At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced animal care go hand in hand. We educate tomorrow's veterinarians and animal nurses and provide first-class care for companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of animal care.
Under one roof, care is offered for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, activity-adapted facilities, we have access to advanced diagnostic imaging and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. The UDS operation also includes an ambulatory clinic that travels to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and farm animals.

Temporary hourly position; special fixed-term employment.
This means you will be offered work during shorter periods within the period specified below under "Scope." You can accept or decline each occasion you are offered work. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment contract is entered into for those occasions.
As a temporary employee, work shift inquiries may be made with short notice.

The scope is determined by the operation's needs, which may vary throughout the year. The employment is valid from August/September 2026 through June 2027.
