Gamla Uppsala Buss (GUB) is one of Sweden's largest publicly owned bus companies and is currently owned by Region Uppsala. The company is environmentally certified according to ISO14001:2019. Our primary activity is to conduct city bus traffic in Uppsala on behalf of Region Uppsala. Other parts of the business include patient transport with specialized vehicles, library bus services, and rental of mobile preschool buses. The company currently has nearly 600 employees. GUB's technical department and workshop are primarily responsible for service and maintenance, as well as repair of our buses, including body work and painting, and spare parts storage. Our technical department is also responsible for procurement and sale of vehicles as well as technical facility management.
We are currently seeking two service technicians for our service hall with an on-call employment arrangement. Being employed on-call at the service hall means you will be hired on an hourly basis. You will be offered work shifts as needed, for example during sick leave and vacation periods. The service hall is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so working hours and the number of shifts vary depending on need.
Your duties as a Service Technician include:
• Planning and communication with traffic control and the workshop
• Interior cleaning of buses
• Exterior washing of buses
• Graffiti removal
• Refueling
• Checking/topping up oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, etc.
• Driving and moving buses within the depot area
Personal qualities:
• Practical skills are required
• We are looking for someone who is thorough, shows good initiative, and can work both independently and as part of a team
• Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
Qualifications:
• Valid B driver's license; D driver's license is a merit
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing
• Knowledge of Office suite
• Experience with similar tasks is a merit
