As an exam invigilator with us, you are responsible for ensuring that the examination environment is calm and secure and for ensuring that the process is conducted in a legally sound manner. Your role is, in other words, very important.
Your work day as an exam invigilator
Your main tasks are to plan and prepare for exam occasions and to supervise exams that students write in halls and digital rooms via the internet. In addition to paper-based exams, Dalarna University increasingly conducts digital hall exams and the digital focus will become increasingly extensive in the future.
The role includes practical and administrative tasks related to exams such as:
conduct identity verification
provide information before the exam (in both Swedish and English)
assist with exam submissions, both on paper and digitally
provide some digital support in our digital exam tool Inspera and the learning platform Canvas.
Are you the person we are looking for?
As an exam invigilator, you should:
have completed upper secondary education
be communicative and comfortable speaking to large groups (in both Swedish and English)
have a professional demeanor
have the ability to follow instructions and regulations
have very good collaboration skills
have access to your own computer and stable internet connection.
It is advantageous if you have:
knowledge and experience with Office 365, Zoom and Teams
The Employment
The employment is a special fixed-term appointment in the form of intermittent employment. This means that you are employed for each individual occasion as needed and receive hourly compensation. For exam invigilators, a fixed hourly wage applies. The number of hours worked varies from person to person and over time. Exams are usually held on weekdays during daytime but can also occur in the evenings and on weekends in exceptional cases. Work may take place at both Campus in Falun and Campus in Borlänge.
To work as an exam invigilator with us, you must first complete mandatory exam invigilator training. After that, you can participate in a learning session where you shadow an experienced exam invigilator to learn how the work is done in practice. You cannot combine exam invigilator work with being a student at Dalarna University.
