Gothenburg City Mission is an idealistic, non-profit organization working to support people living in vulnerable life situations. Together, we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem. ABOUT US City Mission's drug-free housing in Öjersjö offers 21 spaces distributed across 14 rooms and 7 apartments. Our target group is adults aged 21 and above with harmful use/addiction who lack housing and/or need psychosocial support in some form. Our operations are staffed with residential assistants, coordinators, unit managers, and a chef. The facility operates 24/7 and is staffed at night by two people on sleeping duty. The residence offers a calm and harmonious environment focused on supporting individuals, based on their needs, toward stable sobriety, a more sustainable life situation, and increased independence and quality of life. We work using the Motivational Interviewing (MI) method and take a relapse prevention approach. We offer our residents the opportunity to participate in various activities such as exercise and themed groups, AA/NA, and follow-up meetings for those working on their sobriety. Our garden provides space for both ball sports and barbecue evenings. Our weekend activities are planned with our residents and can include various leisure activities such as bowling and fishing, as well as shopping trips and more. The residence's proximity to beautiful nature invites for relaxing walks, swimming, and more. We value a safe, inclusive, and drug-free environment. Meeting and seeing people holistically and allowing individuals to define their own needs is a core value and foundation of our work. You can read more about us here: www.stadsmissionen.org/detta-gor-vi/boenden/ojersjohemmet/. ABOUT THE POSITION We are now looking for you to work extra as a residential assistant with us when needed. As temporary staff with us, support and motivational work are the primary tasks. We work using the MI method and approach. The work includes daily documentation, establishing and following up on implementation plans, providing psychosocial support, and ensuring a drug-free living environment. You collaborate both externally and internally within Gothenburg City Mission and with various authorities for the benefit of the individual. You will work closely with social services, outpatient care, and the network around the resident. The work team is jointly responsible for operations, and various practical tasks occur in the form of grocery shopping/meal preparation, cleaning, and preparing rooms/apartments for move-in/move-out. WHO ARE YOU? We are looking for someone who is in education or has completed training as a social worker, treatment educator, social pedagogue, or has education deemed equivalent by the employer. You also have experience working with our target group: substance abuse and mental health issues. We want you to be confident, independent, responsible, and have a good view of humanity. You have a strong interest in and commitment to our target group. Since operations are based on the residents' needs, we require that you are a good listener and can hold space for emotions while setting clear and consistent boundaries. We want you to be creative and able to see individuals' potential for change. You should have good knowledge of the Social Services Act as we work on assignment from social services. You are expected to be accustomed to documenting, making reports, and work plans using a computer. Experience with MI and relapse prevention is a merit. We expect you to have good collaboration skills, team spirit, creativity, and a desire to help develop our operations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We assume that you, as a job applicant with us, share our view that all people have the right to a place in our city, a home of their own, and a voice. Read more about our values at www.stadsmissionen.org/om-oss. PRACTICAL INFORMATION The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts, as well as sleeping duty. Start as soon as possible or by agreement. The position may be filled during the ongoing recruitment process. You are warmly welcome to submit your application by October 3, 2026. We see diversity as a strength and look forward to applicants with different backgrounds, interests, and experiences. Welcome with your application! Want to know more about Gothenburg City Mission?
