Currently, approximately 90 employees work in the Department of Community Development. The Streets/Parks Unit, within the Technology and Service division, is responsible for the maintenance and care of the municipality's public spaces and facilities such as playgrounds, parks, squares, and swimming areas. We also manage the municipality's properties and outdoor environments at schools and preschools. The unit is also responsible for certain vehicle management as well as forest and nature conservation. Streets/Parks is seeking a park worker who wants to be part of our work team year-round. As a permanent employee with us, you will work with the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's green spaces, parks, swimming areas, and outdoor environments. The work is practical, varied, and performed mainly outdoors – perfect for you if you enjoy active work and want to contribute to a safe and welcoming municipal environment. Everyone in the work team participates in our shared tasks within green space maintenance. We are seeking someone who will complement the team with special strengths. We would particularly like someone with clear machinery experience, who enjoys operating a tractor and equipment carrier and who can contribute with safe handling, simple troubleshooting, and daily inspection of our work machines. These competencies are a complement to the work team's overall needs and do not constitute a separate assignment or special compensation. You will, like your colleagues, work with all tasks within green space maintenance, but contribute your expertise when needed. You are responsible, together with colleagues, for ensuring that work tasks are performed correctly, safely, and with good quality. The role involves participating in planning daily work and contributing to a positive work environment. You will also meet residents and visitors in the municipality, which requires professional and service-oriented conduct. Examples of work tasks: Green space maintenance — grass cutting, trimming, weed control Shrub and hedge care — pruning, topiary, maintenance Planting work — watering, care of trees and plantings Cleanliness — cleaning, emptying waste bins, leaf management Swimming area maintenance — inspection of docks, beaches, and associated areas Machine operation — equipment carriers, tractors, and other work machines depending on season and needs Technical maintenance — simple tool repairs, inspection of playgrounds and fitness equipment Qualifications Requirements: completed upper secondary education, B-class driver's license and ability/permission to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, knowledge/education in gardening, green space maintenance, or property management, or alternatively 2 years of experience in green space maintenance, swimming ability, Meritorious: Experience operating equipment carriers or tractors in operational environments, Wheel loader license (C2), familiarity with various gardening machines, experience driving vehicles with trailers, education such as Chainsaw A, B, C; Work on Roads; Brush Cutter RA/RB; Hot Work; BE licensing, lift certification (scissor lift, boom lift, or equivalent) Personal Qualities To thrive with us, you need to be flexible and solution-oriented, as work tasks vary throughout the year and sometimes require quick decisions. You have good physical ability, are communicative, and can express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You have digital proficiency. You contribute to the team's work and development, while above all having the ability to perform the assignment in a professional and independent manner. You are confident in learning new machines and work tasks and will develop your machinery skills during the introduction. If you become a candidate for employment, an extract from the criminal record register will be required, as some of our work is conducted within schools and preschools.
