Job description:
The Department of Social Affairs and Environment's area of activity is the well-being of people, animals and the environment. The department is tasked with developing legislation, planning, coordinating, monitoring developments within its area of activity and exercising certain supervision over social, health and medical care as well as environmental health care and environmental protection, so that it is qualitatively and quantitatively appropriate taking into account current conditions and applicable regulations. The department handles the general management and supervision of Åland's environmental and health protection authority and Åland's health and medical care.
At the social care office, cases are handled concerning the promotion of social welfare and prevention of social problems. In addition to the office manager, six specialists and one lawyer currently work at the office. Swedish is the working language. The specialist's main duties are to handle overall planning, management and development of sub-areas within social care in the region and serve as an expert in these areas, initiate and prepare material for new legislation within sub-areas of social care, handle and monitor cases and EU matters within the area of responsibility, as well as handle other duties assigned by the supervisor that belong to the area of activity.
Essential requirements:
The qualification requirement is a degree recognized by a national education authority from a university or equivalent institution of higher education corresponding to at least four years of full-time studies with an appropriate specialization.
Desirable requirements:
Familiarity with administrative tasks and knowledge of the area of activity are merit factors. Furthermore, weight is placed on personal qualities (including independence, initiative, ability to cooperate, communication skills).Job description:
