Duties: Teaching and administration. Teaching includes course responsibility and course administration. The courses and scope for which we are seeking a fixed-term lecturer are the following: 1DL601 Software Maintenance (period 1, autumn 2026, English) Follow developments within your own subject area and societal developments that are relevant to work at the university. Qualifications: A degree with subject specialization from higher education in computer science, information technology, or a related subject. Pedagogical competence. The pedagogical competence and subject specialization must be relevant to the subject area of the position and the duties included in the employment. The applicant must have completed higher education pedagogical training relevant to activities within the university or have acquired equivalent knowledge. Documented ability to teach in English unless special circumstances apply. Personal qualities required to perform the position well. Selection criteria for applicants meeting the above qualifications When selecting among qualified applicants, particular emphasis will be placed on both documented subject specialization and pedagogical competence, with special emphasis on pedagogical competence. Subject specialization may include a doctorate degree. In addition to academic qualifications, experience from other activities, such as technology development, may be considered. Pedagogical competence refers to education and teaching qualifications. In addition to academic qualifications, education and teaching qualifications from other activities, such as mentoring, internal training, or mentorship programs, may be considered. When assessing pedagogical competence, pedagogical quality will be the primary consideration. Scope, both breadth and depth, will also be given weight. In assessing pedagogical competence, particular emphasis will be placed on qualifications in teaching within computer science; especially in subjects related to the current course. Further, the ability to plan, initiate, lead, and develop education and teaching, as well as the ability to research-link teaching based on research in the current subject, subject didactics, and higher education pedagogy, will be given weight. The ability to interact on higher education pedagogical issues with stakeholders within and outside the university is also part of pedagogical competence. Administrative competence is important for the position and will be weighted. Other competence: Experience with study administration systems and learning platforms used at Uppsala University (such as Canvas and Ladok) is meriting for the position and will be considered. All qualifications must be documented so that both quality and scope can be assessed.
