Would you like to work practically with testing and troubleshooting of technically advanced systems, both in a test lab and in the field? We are now seeking a test engineer for our client who wants to work closely with both software and hardware and help ensure reliable products for marine environments. ABOUT THE ROLE As a test engineer, you will be part of a team that tests and quality assures systems and applications for marine use. You will work primarily in the company's marine test lab, where you have access to the hardware, systems, and equipment needed to test complete solutions. The role focuses on manual testing at the application and system level. You will convert requirements into test cases, analyze system behavior, and troubleshoot deviations in both software and hardware. An important part of the work is understanding how different parts of the system interact and verifying that products meet established requirements. Work does not happen only in the lab. You will also have the opportunity to test and troubleshoot systems on-site and onboard boats to investigate how the technology works in its real operational environment. You will work closely with developers, systems engineers, and other technical expertise throughout the development process. Because the company develops software, hardware, and electronics under one roof, you will have excellent opportunities to develop a broad understanding of the entire product. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and conduct manual testing of marine systems and applications Convert requirements into clear and relevant test cases Analyze test results and investigate deviations Work with communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Modbus, and Ethernet Use CAN analysis tools to analyze communication and system behavior Document test cases, results, and identified issues in Jira and Confluence Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and other technical functions Conduct tests on-site and onboard boats in real marine environments WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Has a degree in, for example, electronics, mechatronics, computer engineering, or equivalent Has knowledge of or experience with manual testing and verification Has an understanding of how to develop and work with test cases Has up to two years of relevant work experience or is a recent graduate with a strong interest in testing Communicates fluently in Swedish and has good English skills, as both languages are used in daily work It is not required but advantageous if you have experience with: Requirements management and requirements-based testing CAN and CAN analysis tools, such as PCAN-Explorer Jira, Confluence, or similar tools Embedded systems or other hardware-related environments The automotive industry, marine technology, or similar sectors We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. As a person, you are curious, thorough, and solution-oriented. When something doesn't work as expected, you are motivated to investigate why and find the root cause. You appreciate combining structured testing with practical problem-solving and enjoy switching between requirements, test cases, logs, communication interfaces, and physical hardware. Since the role involves many contact points, we also see that you are communicative and enjoy collaborating with others.
