We're now seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer who wants to be part of developing our projects within road, rail, and construction areas.
Responsibilities
As a geotechnical engineer, you will be an important specialist resource in Trafikverket's investment projects. You will contribute technical expertise throughout the project process - from planning and design to production and follow-up.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Review and quality assure geotechnical constructions in design and construction phases, particularly support structures.
- Provide specialist support in geotechnical engineering to project managers and other technical areas.
- Participate in the development and review of technical documents, calculations, and construction solutions.
- Assess and verify solutions for foundations, support structures, and temporary constructions.
- Contribute to technical investigations and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders in projects.
- Contribute to the development of working methods, technical requirements, and regulations within geotechnical engineering.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with geotechnicians, project managers, and other technical specialists at Trafikverket.

We're looking for someone who:
- Has a civil or higher engineering degree in civil engineering, road and water, geotechnics, or other education that Trafikverket considers equivalent
- Has many years of experience working with geotechnical construction, particularly support structures, in infrastructure or construction projects
- Has experience with design and review of geotechnical constructions, including temporary constructions such as sheet piles, trench supports, and temporary support structures
- Has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
It is a merit if you:
- Have experience working in road and/or rail projects as a client, consultant, or contractor
- Have experience working according to Trafikverket's technical requirements, regulations, and standards
- Have experience with project management, technical responsibility, or coordinating specialist roles
- Have knowledge of BIM and model-based project management
- Have experience with advanced calculation tools for geotechnical engineering, such as PLAXIS
- Have experience working in multidisciplinary projects with multiple technical areas
