The IT Department's primary mission is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority. The IT Department is a vital part of crime prevention and crime-fighting efforts, and IT is one of the most important tools for enhancing police efficiency and improving the quality of police work. The IT Department develops and modernizes the police's IT infrastructure, and the Authority is investing heavily in strengthening the department with new specialized expertise and the latest technology to benefit citizens and streamline administration for staff in police operations. We operate in an exciting yet complex and dynamic field where we strengthen the Authority's crime-fighting capabilities with expertise in IT crime and IT forensics. We are responsible for the Police's specialized knowledge in the collection, processing, and analysis of digital evidence. Our product portfolio consists primarily of purchased systems but also includes internally developed systems in this area. To succeed in our mission, we work closely with the operational units and collaboratively within our internal IT Department organization. Job Responsibilities As a technical product specialist, you will have a key role in managing, developing, and optimizing capabilities within IT crime and IT forensics. The majority of our capabilities consist of purchased systems where you will be the link between the operational units and our system vendors, responsible for ensuring that our solutions develop in the right direction. The work is varied and combines both strategic and operational tasks, where you will be responsible for: Management and further development Requirements gathering and specification to vendors Packaging and implementation of new solutions and versions Troubleshooting and technical support Lifecycle management and quality assurance Documentation and knowledge sharing In this role, you collaborate with end users to understand their needs, identify improvement opportunities, and translate these insights into clear requirements and development initiatives. You drive the dialogue forward and actively contribute to ensuring that our technical solutions create real operational value. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: Upper secondary education, or equivalent work experience that the Police Authority considers equivalent At least one year of relevant work experience in an IT Department or equivalent that the Police Authority considers relevant Experience with technical support Experience administering Windows and/or Linux server environments Very strong ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing The position requires Swedish citizenship. It is advantageous if you also have: Experience troubleshooting in client and server environments Database experience, such as SQL Experience with containerization platforms Experience with project/assignment management Experience working with vendors Experience with Confluence and Jira Experience with products in our IT crime and IT forensics areas Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is solution-focused and dares to tackle tasks where the prerequisites are not always completely clear.
