About the Support Platoon
The platoon supports the company's medical units with transportation, supply, equipment, fuel, materiel management, and other logistical services. The platoon is also part of the Defense Medicine Center's war unit, which means they provide support with materiel management and transportation.
Operations are characterized by occasionally high pace, complex planning, and close collaboration with other parts of the company. The platoon is essential for the company to establish, operate, and maintain medical capabilities where needed.
Main Responsibilities
As a technical officer in the support platoon, you are responsible for planning, leading, and developing the technical service within the platoon's operations. You assist the platoon commander in leading technical personnel and ensure that systems and other equipment function properly. You ensure correct operation and storage and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on technical equipment and materiel.
A technical officer is an important part of the unit's ability to maintain materiel availability both at the garrison and during exercises and operations. You also participate in training personnel on equipment handling and technical service.
The position involves working close to operations where you support commanders and soldiers with technical expertise, materiel management, and maintenance issues.
Vehicle Mechanics:
As a technical officer in vehicle mechanics, you work with:
Technical service regarding vehicles and ground materiel
Planning and follow-up of maintenance
Support to commanders in materiel and maintenance service
Coordination with workshops and other support functions
Electrical Systems:
As a technical officer in electrical systems, you work with:
Technical service related to power supply, power generators, and electrical systems.
Planning of preventive and corrective maintenance
Technical advice to commanders and users
Training in technical systems and safety matters.
Follow-up and development of materiel availability.
As a technician, you are crucial for ensuring that the unit's technical equipment is functional during both national and international operations.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Completed officer degree or specialist officer degree with technical focus.
Swedish citizen.
Driver's license class B.
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Good physical capability according to Swedish Armed Forces requirements.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and solution-oriented. You have the ability to independently plan and manage operations while enjoying working together with others. You need to be able to present information pedagogically in training situations.
The role is largely about inspiring and motivating others to work with preventive maintenance, so it is important that you have an operational focus, are communicative, and enjoy creating new contacts. You must have analytical ability and be able to identify and act on foreseeable consequences. Since you will be handling complex systems, it is important that you are curious and creative.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
MERIT FACTORS
Experience with technical service in the Swedish Armed Forces.

The Defense Medicine Center (FömedC) is the Swedish Armed Forces' center for the defense medicine function, located in Gothenburg.
