Danvikshem is a care and residential facility for people over 65 years old and is operated by Stiftelsen Danviks Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is a state-founded, non-profit organization that has provided care and welfare services since the mid-1500s and is Sweden's oldest active foundation. Danvikshem currently offers 226 beds for dementia and somatic care. We are approximately 280 colleagues who work together with the goal of providing meaningful living and the best care for those we serve. Our core values are compassion as foundation – professional expertise as means – quality of life as goal. As a mission-driven organization, any surplus is reinvested in our operations. About the Workplace The Technical Department at Danvikshem consists of 7 employees: maintenance staff, electricians, painters, and technicians who, together with the manager, work on operations, administration, and development of Danvikshem. The beautiful main building from 1915 is a well-known landmark with fantastic views over Stockholm. At Danvikshem, all operations are located in the same area, which creates a family-like culture with close collaboration between different functions and strong commitment to our residents. About the Role As Technical Director, you have overall responsibility for property operations, maintenance, safety, and development of Danvikshem's real estate portfolio. The role encompasses both strategic and operational responsibility and involves leading, delegating, and following up on work within the technical department. You have personnel responsibility for seven employees and are responsible for creating conditions for engagement, collaboration, and competence development within the team. You are part of the management group and actively contribute to the overall development of operations. Together with other managers, you work long-term to develop operations, strengthen internal processes, and ensure that Danvikshem continues to be a safe and attractive environment for residents, employees, tenants, and visitors. An important part of the assignment is to develop work methods, processes, and procedures within the property and technical areas. We therefore seek a leader with an interest in improvement work, who enjoys developing work methods and can translate ideas into structure, quality, and results. At the same time, the role offers a unique opportunity to work in an environment where historically valuable buildings meet modern property technology. You understand the importance of managing a historic environment while seeing opportunities to develop operations through digitalization, smart technical solutions, and sustainable investments. Your Main Areas of Responsibility Ensure efficient operations, maintenance, and development of the foundation's real estate portfolio. Responsibility for technical systems such as ventilation, heating, cooling, and other building installations. Manage and develop security systems, including locks, alarms, access systems, and fire protection. Lead and develop a team of seven employees in technical service and property operations. Responsibility for budget, cost tracking, and procurement of contractors. Build and develop relationships with authorities, suppliers, and other external partners. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and systematic fire protection work. Have environmental responsibility according to the Environmental Code. Drive change and development work with focus on efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Who Are You? We are looking for you – a confident and development-oriented leader who is motivated by building well-functioning teams. You are present in your leadership, create participation, and help people grow through clarity, trust, and follow-up. You are organized and take responsibility, but are curious about how work methods, technology, and organization can be developed over time. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to switch between operational day-to-day issues and strategic decisions with a long-term perspective. Experience working with historically valuable properties is a merit, but equally important is that you understand the special requirements and opportunities these environments present and see the value in combining operations and management with modern technology and sustainable solutions. As a member of the management group, you are expected to have a holistic and strategic perspective on the organization's development. You are an important sounding board for the CEO and other managers and work closely with operations to ensure that properties and technical systems meet both today's and tomorrow's needs. Your Experience You have: At least three years of higher education in a relevant field, or alternatively other post-secondary education with relevant focus on property and operations. Experience in technical operations, maintenance, and property management. Experience with leadership and personnel responsibility. Experience with security systems such as alarms, locks, access systems, and systematic fire protection work. Experience with procurement and contractor management. Good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant legislation and extensive experience with authority contacts. Very good Swedish in speech and writing. It is an asset if you have: General electrical competency. Experience with environmental responsibility according to the Environmental Code. Experience managing historically valuable buildings. Why You Should Choose Danvikshem You will have a central role in the organization with the opportunity to further develop work methods, technology, and property management in a unique environment where long-term perspective, quality, and compassion are in focus. Other Information About the Recruitment Selection is ongoing and the position may be filled before the final application deadline, so don't delay in applying. Before employment, we will request an extract from the criminal record register. Warmly welcome to submit your application! Deadline: 2026-09-20 Contact person: Carina Mattsson, CEO, [email protected] Please note that we do not accept applications via email.
