Welcome to apply for a job with us! We are seeking an engineer in computer science (SkePU/SkeVU system development) for the Department of Computer and Information Science. About the Job You will work in a long-term research and development project in software engineering for distributed, parallel, and heterogeneous computer systems. The duties include further development, application, and documentation of our C++-based open-source programming framework SkePU for heterogeneous parallel systems. Additional tasks include programming advanced low-level software for heterogeneous distributed computer systems and the execution-trace visualizer SkeVU. The job therefore requires excellent familiarity with the SkePU programming framework and the SkeVU visualizer. The work also includes participation in regular project meetings and may include technical meetings and system demonstrations for our collaborating partners. About You We are seeking someone with recently or very soon completed master's studies in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field, with a specialization/master's thesis that matches the duties described above. We want you to have: Excellent familiarity with the SkePU framework and SkeVU Good English skills, both spoken and written Good ability to work independently It is advantageous if you have: A strong background in software engineering and tools, operating systems, compiler technology, and programming of distributed, parallel, and heterogeneous computer systems. Your Workplace The Department of Computer and Information Science (IDA) was founded in 1983, but our roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of areas, from fundamental computer science to applied fields. Our extensive research also influences our undergraduate and graduate education, leading us to offer courses in several civil and engineering programs, as well as programs in innovative programming, cognitive science, and statistics. The Software Engineering Laboratory currently has approximately 30 employees.
