We are now seeking a theater teacher for students in grades 4-9 at Entréskolan in Västerås. The position is a substitute assignment covering parental leave during fall 2026 and potentially longer. The position is 20% with working hours on Fridays, available to start immediately. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Entréskolan is an aesthetics-focused elementary school for grades 4-9 with a profile in active learning and creative expression based on aesthetic forms of expression through interdisciplinary thematic projects. Entréskolan operates in Västerås, Stockholm, Eskilstuna, and Örebro. We offer four aesthetic profile options: theater, music, dance, and art. We are seeking an engaged theater teacher with broad knowledge of directing, set design, sound/lighting, acting, and scriptwriting. A person with the ability to inspire and enthuse, and who can create exciting and meaningful theater together with our students. As a theater teacher, you will lead and instruct our students within our theater profile. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating theater instruction with students in the theater specialization. Students have theater lessons twice per week on their schedule. You will plan and implement productions with students in close collaboration with other profile teachers in music, dance, and art. The position is 20% but with extended duties during full-day rehearsals and production work. You will be part of the aesthetics team alongside other teachers of music, dance, crafts, and visual arts. Administrative duties, as well as student and parent contact, are included, and we work with digital tools for this purpose. Responsibility for managing the props storage is also part of the position. As a person, you are creative, driven, and experienced in developing productions with students and colleagues. You have the ability to view situations and decisions from a holistic perspective. You have a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with both students and other staff. You have a genuine interest in students' creative abilities and creativity. You are open, development-oriented, receptive, respectful, and contribute to our values-based work. You are confident in your role as an educator/teacher and take responsibility for your assignment. We are seeking someone with a theater pedagogy university degree or equivalent. You have experience in theater pedagogical work with children and young people. We are primarily looking for someone with teacher certification with authorization in theater. However, it is also a merit if you have broad experience in theater activities. Student learning and development are at the center. You have good knowledge of working with students with different types of circumstances and can adapt your instruction to meet different needs.
