Theater in Children's Group 9-12 Years

Pedagogue with a focus on theater for children 9–12 years We are seeking an engaged and creative pedagogue who wants to plan, prepare, and implement theater activities for children aged 9–12 years at our after-school center and youth club. The activities will be conducted two days per week (approximately 13:30–17:30) with each theater session lasting about 75 minutes. The position encompasses a total of 8 hours per week, distributed over two working days. Work time includes planning, preparation, and implementation of theater activities, as well as some work with the children's group. About Maria Youth Club Maria Youth Club is an independent after-school center and youth club operating at Maria School in Stockholm. The facility has been in operation for approximately 40 years and currently serves around 360 enrolled children on a daily basis. We have about 18 staff members. A cornerstone of our pedagogical philosophy is allowing children to choose activities they wish to engage in during their time with us. We therefore offer a wide range of activities and programs, including creative work, film and animation, music, sports and play, theater, and more. Our pedagogues often have specialized knowledge and interests within their respective fields. Their role is not only to implement activities but also to create inspiring programs that spark children's curiosity and encourage participation. About the Role As a theater pedagogue, you are responsible for creating a safe, inspiring, and engaging program where children have the opportunity to develop their creativity, imagination, and collaborative skills through theater and drama. Your tasks include: planning and preparing theater and drama activities leading theater sessions for children aged 9–12 years creating exercises and activities tailored to the group's needs and abilities contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive environment fostering children's interest in theater, storytelling, and creative expression It is advantageous if you have experience with LARP (live-action role-playing) or similar pedagogical and creative approaches. We are interested in testing LARP as part of our program and exploring whether it is an activity that engages and appeals to the children. We are Looking for You If You You are comfortable leading groups and have a pedagogical and creative approach. You enjoy working with children and have the ability to create engagement and participation. It is advantageous if you have: · experience in theater, drama, or performance activities · previous experience working with children · experience with LARP/live-action role-playing · the ability to independently plan and implement creative activities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. About the Position Scope: 8 hours per week Working days: Two days per week Theater activities: Approximately 75 minutes per session Target group: Children 9–12 years There may be opportunities for additional hours as a substitute during absences, such as sick leave. In such cases, work involves being part of the regular program and working together with the children's group. We are seeking someone who wants to help create a fun, developmental, and inspiring theater program where children's ideas, creativity, and self-expression are at the center.
