Teacher of Wood and Metal Crafts, Grades 4-9

You possess the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom where your clear leadership and teaching style are key to your students' success. You can adapt your teaching to reach different students and can, in collaboration with our student welfare team and special education teachers, work inclusively with students who have special needs. For us, continuous and clear feedback to students and guardians is a must, and you see it as a natural part of your teaching. In this feedback, you provide information about both progress and areas for development and improvement. We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications in wood and metal crafts who wants to teach students in an international work environment. It is a merit if you are a certified teacher up to grade 9. You meet your students' needs and as a mentor to 16 students, you strive for each student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background. You have a positive view of people, are a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. The language of instruction in wood and metal crafts is Swedish, but good knowledge of the English language is a requirement as many staff members are English speakers.
About the Job:
The job description includes, in addition to the usual teaching tasks such as planning, teaching, grading, and follow-up, also mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach. You need to be available for meetings with guardians, students, and colleagues and actively work to uphold IES's values and vision. Our focus is on learning and a calm environment where the school's routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. A pleasant atmosphere and good cooperation are key to our success. This is also the foundation for creating a guiding thread that supports our students through their school years and helps them reach their goals. Wood and metal crafts are taught in half-class groups in a fully equipped craft room for the subject.
