We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Swedish teacher to teach grades 6 and 7. This position is a temporary assignment from October 1, 2026 to January 28, 2028. The teacher we are looking for is passionate about their subject, can create excellent conditions for learning in the classroom environment, and has a genuine interest in students' well-being as well as academic development. You have an interest in building trusting relationships with students. You are flexible and enjoy collaborating with others. You are positive and professional in your role and in your interactions with students, parents, and staff. You will collaborate with colleagues in your subject area to plan creative and inspiring lessons. There is great freedom at our school to try new materials and methods in the classroom. We consider it self-evident that you adapt your classroom management and teaching to reach all students and, when needed, differentiate your instruction. In addition to your subject department, you will also be part of a team working on students' academic development and overall well-being. Your role will also include mentoring 16 students.
Our student body is diverse, and to succeed with teaching at IES Järfälla, it is important to understand students' different backgrounds and circumstances, as well as to have the ability to adapt and plan your teaching based on the group's and individual's needs. Teaching is conducted in Swedish. The working language among colleagues is in both English and Swedish, which requires that you are comfortable communicating in both languages.
This is a 100% temporary position, and we apply a 6-month probationary period.
