We are looking for someone who will ensure our students receive the right support, at the right time, and based on their individual needs, with a particular focus on students who need support in mathematics. About the Role As a special education teacher, you work both directly with students and in a consultative capacity with the school's teachers. Depending on student needs, you work individually, in small groups, and in the classroom. An important part of the position is to assess and support students' mathematical development. You plan, implement, and follow up on targeted interventions for students who need particular support in mathematics. You also guide teachers in how mathematics instruction can be adapted and made more accessible. You will become an important part of the school's SEN team and work closely with the student support team, our Student Care Manager, our Academic Managers, and school leadership. Together, you will develop the school's work with accommodations, specialized support, school attendance, and accessible learning environments. Your Main Responsibilities • Teach and support students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom. • Assess students' mathematical development and identify learning barriers. • Plan, implement, and evaluate targeted support interventions in mathematics. • Guide teachers in adapted and accessible mathematics instruction. • Conduct educational assessments and evaluations. • Develop, follow up on, and evaluate support plans. • Document interventions and student cases in ProRenata. • Work with students with problematic school absenteeism. • Observe lessons and guide teachers on accommodations, specialized support, and accessible learning environments. • Participate in meetings with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners. • Collaborate with student support services and school leadership on support measures. • Contribute to the development of the school's student support work. We Are Looking For Someone Who • holds Swedish teacher certification and a special education degree with a focus on mathematics development, • has knowledge of mathematics difficulties and methods to support students' mathematical development, • has experience with educational assessments, evaluations, and support plans, • has experience with students with neurodevelopmental disorders and other special education needs, • has a strong understanding of school policies and regulations regarding specialized support, • communicates fluently in Swedish and can communicate well in English, • works in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented manner, and • easily builds positive relationships and collaborates with others. Experience with problematic school absenteeism and documentation in ProRenata is a merit.
