At the Neuro Head and Neck Center (NHHC), approximately 650 people work with various aspects of investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries affecting the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The center is a regional clinic where highly specialized care is provided for patients from the entire northern healthcare region, and it conducts research, education, and development. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery regularly collaborates with other medical specialties in connection with surgery for head and neck tumors, cleft lip, jaw and palate, and complicated facial fractures/neurocraniial injuries. We perform all types of surgical procedures and investigations that belong within the oral and maxillofacial surgical care spectrum. For inpatient care, we have beds on the Ear, Nose, Throat and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ward where we have our own care responsibility. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery also has very close collaboration with other dental specialties located near the clinic. Our referring healthcare providers include both general dental practice and private dental practice. We hold regular therapy discussions and exchange with other oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics in the northern region. In collaboration with the Department of Dentistry at the medical faculty, we conduct basic education for dental students and continuing education for dental hygienists in this field. Clinical supervision is included as a mandatory part of the clinical service for all personnel. The department also conducts research within the oral and maxillofacial surgery field. The development and quality work conducted focuses mainly on digital treatment planning for implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Our team includes specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental residents, general dentists, surgical dental nurses, dental hygienists, registered nurses, dental assistants, and medical secretaries. We staff the oral and maxillofacial surgery on-call service 24/7, every day of the week throughout the year. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a dental hygienist with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make colleagues and patients feel secure. You will work daytime hours, Monday through Friday, in our clinic and polyclinic operating area with standard dental hygienist duties within oral and maxillofacial surgery. The position also includes administrative tasks. Additional work in sterile processing and reception may occur. We offer varied and challenging work within the entire oral and maxillofacial surgery field. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with dental hygienist training and several years of professional experience. Further education in surgical care for dental hygienists is a merit. As a person, we see that you have good collaboration skills and are flexible in thinking and action. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
