About the Role As a YKB instructor at YrkesAkademin, you are responsible for training participants in professional certificate (YKB) for bus drivers. You help our participants develop the knowledge, skills, and professional approach required to succeed in the profession. Teaching takes place primarily in a classroom environment, but may also include practical components on the road. The role may involve mentoring. The position is full-time and located in Karlstad. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will, among other things: Plan and conduct YKB basic training (140 hours) for aspiring bus drivers. Hold YKB continuing education (35 hours) for professional drivers. Explain laws, regulations, and safety requirements in a clear and pedagogical manner. Create a safe, secure, and inspiring learning environment. Adapt teaching to the different needs and circumstances of participants. Follow up on participants' development and results. Collaborate with colleagues to create the best possible conditions for participant learning. Handle administration related to training, such as attendance reporting, industry contacts, documentation, and reporting to the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Transport Agency, and the Swedish Transport Administration. Contribute to a positive and professional study environment. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with experience from the bus industry and who enjoys working with people. You don't need to already work as a trainer. We also welcome experienced bus drivers who want to take the next step in their career by training and inspiring future professional drivers. Basic Requirements for YKB Instructors For this position, you need to have: Industry Experience: At least 3 years of documented experience in passenger transport as a bus driver. Alternatively, at least two years of experience as a driving instructor in bus driver training. Pedagogical Competence: At least 6 months of documented experience in adult education within the last 5 years, or alternatively, post-secondary pedagogical education equivalent to at least 6 months of full-time studies. Meritorious It is especially advantageous if you have: Experience as a teacher or instructor in driver training for D-class licenses. Experience in training within the transport or bus industry.
