The Swedish Migration Agency's development organization is one of the largest Java development organizations in Eastern Gothia and consists of about 20 autonomous teams. We develop and maintain most of the agency's operational systems, which are largely custom-built. At the same time, we are on an exciting technology journey modernizing our platforms and building tomorrow's digital solutions.

We work with modern development methods and a tech stack that includes Java, Spring Boot, Quarkus, React, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes. Teams work primarily from our offices in Norrköping or Linköping, with the possibility of some remote work based on operational needs.
Job Responsibilities
As a systems developer, you will develop, improve, and maintain digital solutions that are an important part of the Swedish Migration Agency's mission to society.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
develop and deliver new features and services
maintain and further develop existing systems
work with continuous delivery
test and ensure quality of both your own and the team's solutions
collaborate with the business, other development teams, and operations and support organizations
contribute to the development of our modern technical platform.
We work with modern methods and have a strong focus on automation. Right now we are developing a cloud native platform based on Docker and Kubernetes where you will be an important part of our continued technology journey.
Who Are You?
We're looking for an experienced systems developer who enjoys collaborating to create high-quality solutions. You take responsibility for both your own deliverables and the team's collective results. You are curious, engaged, and enjoy sharing your knowledge while continuing to develop yourself.
You have
relevant post-secondary education of at least 120 higher education credits or other education that the employer deems equivalent, combined with current and relevant work experience
several years of experience with systems development
experience with Java development
good communication skills and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
Swedish citizenship.
It is meritorious if you have
experience with CI/CD and agile working methods
experience with SQL
experience with Spring Boot or Quarkus
experience with microservices architecture
experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Working at the Swedish Migration Agency
As an employee at the Swedish Migration Agency, you are a civil servant working on behalf of the citizens. This means you contribute to upholding legal certainty, equal treatment, and public confidence in government activities.

The Swedish Migration Agency is part of Sweden's civil preparedness and has an important societal function even during crises and heightened alert.
Security and War Placement
Upon employment with the Swedish Migration Agency, the employer has the right to make decisions regarding war placement according to Ordinance (2015:1053) on Total Defense and Heightened Alert. You can only be war-placed at one location. If you are already war-placed within another part of the total defense system, you retain your war placement there.
As a civil servant, high standards of judgment and strong security and confidentiality awareness are required. Employment with us may involve participation in security-sensitive activities. Before an employment decision is made, a security interview is therefore conducted. For this position, a security clearance with registry check is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
