About the Department
The IT Department at Chalmers University of Technology is a comprehensive IT organization responsible for Chalmers' shared IT systems and also provides limited IT support to the entire Chalmers Group. We are approximately 100 employees distributed across several units and work closely with the organization in education, research, innovation, and administration.
The IT Department's mission is to ensure that the University has stable, secure, and fit-for-purpose IT services. We work together and build our operations on responsibility, clarity, trust, and close collaboration with various Chalmers operations.
Job Description
Chalmers is undergoing a technology shift from primarily on-premises solutions to a more cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure with Azure and Windows as central building blocks. In this role, you will work with both daily operations and development and change projects related to our platform.
Your main tasks include:
Manage and further develop our Azure and Windows server environment in a hybrid solution.
Define, implement, and improve platform architecture and related services.
Participate in and sometimes lead projects related to modernization, migration, and automation.
Work on troubleshooting, performance optimization, and proactive maintenance.
Contribute to ensuring that documentation, procedures, and processes are current and fit-for-purpose.
Monitor developments in your area, acquire new knowledge, and share it with colleagues.
You are expected to take full responsibility for your tasks and collaborate closely with both IT colleagues and business representatives.
Employment Terms
Permanent full-time position. Work location is Gothenburg, Johanneberg campus.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
Post-secondary IT education or equivalent experience
Good and at least three years of current experience with Windows server environments
Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
Understanding of hybrid environments where on-premises and cloud work together
Ability to design, implement, operate, and improve platform services
Experience developing scripts/automation (for example, PowerShell)
Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
It is advantageous if you have:
A university degree in IT.
Certifications in Windows Server and/or Azure.
