Section Mission Within special sections of the Swedish Public Employment Service, there are specialists for job seekers with disabilities in vision, deafness, and hearing. The specialists are audiologists, deaf consultants, and vision specialists. East Region is now recruiting two vision specialists for placement in Jönköping or Kalmar and Linköping or Norrköping. Job Description The vision specialist's role focuses on being an active part of labor market policy assessment. The assignment includes conducting vision function assessments and evaluating job seekers' potential for work and studies based on their current vision capacity. Another important part of the assignment is to investigate and propose appropriate workplace accommodations. Documentation is an important and recurring part of the work tasks. In all contacts with job seekers and employers, you maintain a supportive and guiding approach. You help develop the job seeker's knowledge of their own conditions and strengthen their motivation and orientation toward work. The Swedish Public Employment Service is undergoing digital development that permeates all our work, so you both want to and are able to use digital tools. The job also includes collaborating with various partners such as the Social Insurance Agency, vision centers, educational providers, and employers. Travel is a natural part of the job and occurs frequently. You should also be prepared for travel that may involve overnight stays in other locations. Our Offer This is a permanent full-time position that may begin with a six-month probationary period. The placement location is Jönköping or Kalmar and Linköping or Norrköping. Basic Requirements for the Position Higher education of 180 credits (120 credits under the old system) Supplementary education in the vision field: Master's degree in special education with a focus on vision pedagogical work, or alternatively you have education and/or experience deemed equivalent, which means competence in: Ophthalmology, Optics, Vision Rehabilitation, Assistive Technology Competence for compensating visual impairment. Class B driver's license Additional Merits for the Position Experience from the vision rehabilitation field Experience from work-oriented rehabilitation Experience working with people with visual impairments and/or deafblindness Experience testing assistive devices for people with visual impairments and/or deafblindness The public sector values guide us in our daily work.
