We are now recruiting a career and academic counselor for Brunnsängskolan (50%) and Igelsta grundskola (50%)! Brunnsängskolan is an F–9 school with approximately 525 students. Our mission is "The School Where You Are Seen" and it permeates all aspects of our operations. The school is located in the Brunnsängs area and is a multicultural school with students from 40 different countries. We actively work to ensure everyone's right to be respected for who they are, an effort that has resulted in increased awareness among all students to show respect for one another. The school is characterized by strong collaboration between teachers and students. Starting in fall 2025, we launched a football profile in cooperation with Hammarby Football, as well as other profiles such as drama/music, visual arts & design, and academic tracks. Igelsta grundskola is characterized by a pleasant and welcoming work environment. Today we have approximately 500 students from preschool through grade 9 and about 65 staff members. The school is growing as the surrounding area expands. We have excellent facilities, a wonderful outdoor environment, and close proximity to nature. We are developing our operations and you will have the opportunity to influence how the school's development unfolds. The school has clear leadership and engaged teachers where knowledge and love of learning are always central. We have well-functioning team structures and we work to ensure all staff experience job satisfaction. An active student support team exists at the school, which includes a counselor, school nurse, career counselor, special education teacher, assistant principals, and the principal. You will be an important piece of the puzzle. Our classrooms are inviting and creative learning environments. Craft, art, and music rooms, along with a fantastic library, inspire curiosity, love of reading, and creativity. Your Responsibilities As a career and academic counselor with us, you will have a central role in guiding students in their educational and career choices. You will work both strategically and operationally, individually and in groups, and contribute to creating a safe and inspiring path forward for our students. - Create and work from an activity plan for the entire school. - Conduct individual career counseling sessions with students. - Provide information about educational pathways, qualifications, and future career opportunities. - Support students in making choices regarding upper secondary school, adult education, or higher education. - Plan and lead group information sessions on career competency for staff and students. - Collaborate with school leadership, student support services, and educators to strengthen the school's career guidance work. - Oversee practical work experience placements (PRAO). - Contribute to the school's work on career guidance as part of instruction (career guidance in teaching). - Stay informed about labor market developments and changes in the education system. Requirements: - Degree in career and academic counseling. - Good knowledge of the education system and labor market. - Ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. - Very strong ability to communicate in Swedish both orally and in writing. Meritorious: - Experience working in primary school. - Experience working with students in need of special support. - Knowledge of digital career guidance tools and study planning systems. - Experience working in a multicultural area where language and knowledge development approaches are in focus.
