Parkskolan is a municipal school serving grades 4-9 and offering after-school activities for grades 4-6. The school currently has 330 students total. This is a temporary position from October 12, 2026 to January 15, 2028. Responsibilities At Parkskolan, we continuously strive to develop our operations, with student development and learning at the center. Our work is characterized by collaborative learning, relational and clear leadership based on cooperation, respect, and communication. You will work with engaged and competent colleagues where opportunities for experience sharing and continuous development are always present. Your duties as a career and academic counselor include: - Conducting motivating guidance conversations with individual students and groups - Working in classrooms across all grade levels - Planning activities such as PRAO weeks, visits to upper secondary schools and workplaces, etc. - Managing the upper secondary school selection process and planning and conducting information meetings for students and guardians - Acting as a liaison between primary and upper secondary school during transitions - Participating as a natural part of the student welfare team (EHT) - Mentoring and supporting colleagues in career and academic guidance work in daily operations - Participating and developing together with your career guidance colleagues in the municipality and region - Following up on and evaluating the school's career guidance plan together with colleagues in Centrala staden This position offers you a broad and varied assignment with many interesting challenges. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a qualified career and academic counselor. You are familiar with the school's mission and operations. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. About You You are a person who works independently but is also curious about collaborating with others to create new working methods and work toward common goals. You are thorough, responsible, and have a flexible approach. You are confident in your professional role and build good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners. You have the ability to adapt your guidance based on the individual's and the organization's needs, and you have a strong commitment to preparing students for future studies and work life. You enjoy varied work, collaborate well in the school's student welfare team, and use digital tools as a natural part of your work. You are flexible, calm, and confident in your professional role with the ability to prioritize with the student's best interests in focus. It is advantageous if you have experience with career and academic guidance at the upper secondary level of primary school, collaboration with working life regarding internship programs (prao), and if you feel comfortable with the documentation involved in the position.
