We are seeking a career and education counselor for a full-time position shared between the Näsbydal school district and the Näsbypark school district in Täby municipality. You will have a varied and independent role where you work closely with students, school leadership, teachers, student support services, and guardians. Näsbydalskolan is a municipal school for grades 6–9 with approximately 300 students. Näsbyparksskolan is a municipal school for grades 4–9 with approximately 600 students. Näsbypark resource school, serving students in grades 4–9, is also located in Näsbyparksskolan's facilities. About the Role As a career and education counselor, you play an important role in students' learning and future educational and career choices. You work with both individual counseling conversations and group guidance, and you plan and conduct information sessions and activities for students and guardians. An important part of the role is to work with school leadership and teachers to develop the schools' career and education guidance work in accordance with the curriculum's intention that career and education guidance is the responsibility of the entire school. You contribute your professional expertise and, together with other professionals, create conditions for students to develop knowledge about themselves, educational paths, the working world, and future opportunities. You will, among other things: Conduct individual counseling conversations and group guidance Inform students and guardians about educational paths, upper secondary school choices, and future study and career opportunities Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and student support services regarding students' development and future choices Contribute to developing career and education guidance as part of teaching and the school's shared mission Cooperate with upper secondary schools, educational providers, the business sector, and other relevant stakeholders Handle administrative tasks that are part of the career and education counselor's role Since the position is divided between two school districts, you need to be able to work independently, plan and prioritize your work, and create structure and continuity in your role. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree from a career and education counselor program. You have good and current knowledge of the education system, educational pathways, the job market, the working world, and various professions. You also have knowledge of career guidance and conversation methods, and the ability to apply these when meeting students with different needs and circumstances. To succeed in this role, you need to be confident and professional in your expertise. You find it easy to build good relationships with students and collaborate well with colleagues, school leadership, guardians, and external partners. You are organized, take initiative, and can plan your work both short and long term. Since you will be working within two school districts, it is important that you are comfortable with an independent role while also valuing close collaboration with others.
