The role of Career and Academic Advisor with us
In Kungsbacka, we have central guidance to ensure equity in the municipality's career and academic guidance. The guidance is an outward-facing activity and is conducted at all municipal primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adult education, as well as within the labor market sector. We also have the task of offering all municipality residents impartial guidance for future career choices.
As a Career and Academic Advisor, you work together with other advisors, coordinators, and the unit manager to develop career and academic guidance work from a holistic perspective in Kungsbacka Municipality. As an employee of the Guidance unit, you may work in different parts of our operations. You also collaborate with Kompetenscentrum's other units.
Your profile
You are relationship-building and maintain successful collaboration with your surroundings. You take own initiative, are solution-focused, and view changes positively. We see that you are confident in making your own decisions and prioritizing when the situation requires it. You see the value of working with digital solutions to advance guidance work. You express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. We place great importance on personal suitability.
We are looking for you who:
have a Career and Academic Advisor degree
It is meritorious:
experience working dynamically and development-oriented in the role of Career and Academic Advisor
relevant experience guiding multiple different target groups
can express yourself well in English both verbally and in writing

At the Department of Upper Secondary Education & Labor Market, we are approximately 500 employees. We consist of the operations Upper Secondary Education and Kompetenscentrum. Through the department, municipality residents are offered upper secondary education, adult education, career and academic guidance, establishment for newly arrived immigrants to Sweden, and labor market measures for those who need support to achieve self-sufficiency.

We offer a permanent full-time employment with start date September 28, 2026 or by agreement. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
