We are seeking a career and education counselor who wants to contribute to developing and strengthening career and education guidance within the Astrad and Åby school areas. In this role, you will work closely with students, guardians, and school staff to create favorable conditions for students' future educational and career choices. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a career and education counselor, you are responsible for career and education guidance within the Astrad and Åby school areas. The position includes work at the lower secondary schools within both school areas, with the distribution of working time based on the needs of the activities and student population. You work to help students develop knowledge about educational pathways, the job market, and future opportunities. Through individual and group-based career and education guidance, you support students' development of decision-making skills and help them make well-informed decisions regarding upper secondary school choices and continued studies. You are an important resource in the schools' work to integrate career and education guidance as a school-wide responsibility and collaborate closely with school leadership, teachers, and student support services to strengthen students' goal achievement and future establishment in education and working life. Work Tasks • Individual career and education guidance for students in grades 7–9. • Group guidance and information initiatives regarding upper secondary school selection, educational pathways, and the job market. • Information and guidance to guardians regarding upper secondary school selection and continued studies. • Planning, implementation, and follow-up of guidance initiatives and activities that strengthen students' decision-making skills. • Support for students during the transition from lower secondary to upper secondary school. • Collaboration with school leadership, teachers, student support services, and external stakeholders. • Participation in schools' systematic work with career and education guidance. • Conduct motivation-building conversations. • Documentation and administration related to the guidance assignment. • Contribute to developing consistent approaches and procedures for career and education guidance within the Astrad and Åby school areas. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: • Has a career and education counselor degree. • Has good knowledge of the education system and job market. • Has experience in career and education guidance, preferably within lower secondary school. • Has good ability to plan, organize, and structure your work. • Has good administrative skills and experience using digital tools. • Has good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Personal Qualities You work independently, in a structured manner, and take responsibility for driving your work forward. You have good collaboration skills and build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
